What is concordance?
- Rapport de conformité entre deux ou plusieurs choses ; accord, correspondance, analogie : La concordance des témoignages.
Compliance ratio between two or more things; agreement, correspondence, analogy: The consistency of the testimony.
- Disposition normale, non plissée, de couches sédimentaires sur des couches plus anciennes.
Normal, non-pleated arrangement of sedimentary layers on older layers.
- Phénomène par lequel le verbe d'une subordonnée se met au temps ou au mode du verbe de la proposition dont il dépend et non au temps ou au mode qu'il aurait s'il n'avait pas été subordonné.(Exemple de concordance des temps : Je crains qu'il ne soit trop tard/Je craignais qu'il ne fût trop tard.)
The phenomenon by which the verb of a subordinate puts itself in the tense or mode of the verb of the proposition on which it depends and not in the tense or mode that it would have had it not been subordinate. (Example of time concordance: I'm afraid it's too late/I was worried it's too late.)
