Vad är sirens?
- Figura della mitologia classica rappresentata con l’aspetto di donna giovane e bella nella parte superiore del corpo e di uccello nella parte inferiore (solo dal Medioevo in poi rappresentata invece con la parte inferiore a forma di pesce), che con il suo canto melodioso attirava i marinai per farli poi morire tra le onde del mare.
Figure of classical mythology represented with the appearance of a young and beautiful woman in the upper body and bird at the bottom (only from the Middle Ages onwards represented instead with the lower part in the shape of a fish), which with its melodious singing attracted sailors to then make them die in the waves of the sea.
