What is wait?

- Creer que ha de suceder alguna cosa: se esperan lluvias abundantes.
Believing that something must happen: heavy rains are expected.
- Desear que algo ocurra: espero que se recupere pronto .
Wish for something to happen: I hope you recover soon.
- Permanecer en un sitio donde se cree que ha de ir alguna persona o ha de ocurrir algo: te espero a las ocho donde siempre.
Staying in a place where someone is believed to be going or something has to happen: I'll wait for you at eight o'clock where they always do.
- Parar en una actividad hasta que suceda algo: esperemos a que él llegue para empezar la reunión.
Stop at an activity until something happens: let's wait for him to arrive to start the meeting.
