What is helicinidæ?
- A family of rhipidoglossate gastropods of the order Streptoneura, having the epipodium without tentacles, branchia absent, mantle-cavity transformed into a pulmonary chamber, heart with a single auricle, not traversed by the rectum, and the operculum without apophysis. It contains the genera Helicina, Hydrocena, and Georissa, all terrestrial and found in warm regions.
Famiglia di gasteropodi ripidoglossati dell'ordine Streptoneura, con l'epipodi privo di tentacoli, branchia assente, cavità mantellare trasformata in camera polmonare, cuore con un solo padiglione auricolare, non attraversato dal retto, e opercolo privo di apofisi. Contiene i generi Helicina, Hydrocena e Georissa, tutti terrestri e che si trovano nelle regioni calde.
