- (METEOR). Perturbazione atmosferica di varia estensione e durata, caratterizzata da una notevole violenza di vento e di pioggia e spesso da grandine ║ estens. Il moto ondoso violento suscitato nel mare o nei laghi dalla furia del vento: la nave fu travolta dalla t. ║ T. di sabbia , tipica delle zone desertiche, determinata da forti venti che sollevano in aria grandi quantità di sabbia │(FIS). T. magnetica , improvvisa e irregolare variazione dell’intensità e direzione del campo magnetico terrestre, ricollegabile all’attività solare.
