- Nome generico con il quale si indicano le varietà terrose di ematite (o. rossa ) o di limonite (o. gialla ), usate come coloranti; esteso poi ad altri minerali terrosi di colore giallo-bruno (es. o. d’antimonio ).
Generic name for the earthy varieties of hematite (o. rossa ) or limonite (o. yellow ), used as dyes; then extended to other earthy minerals of yellow-brown color (e.g. o. of antimony).
