What is Manis?
- A genus of edentates, covered with large, hard, triangular scales, with sharp edges that overlap each other like tiles on a roof. They inhabit the warmest parts of Asia and Africa, and feed on ants. Called also Scaly anteater. See pangolin.
Un genere di edentati, ricoperti da squame grandi, dure, triangolari, con spigoli vivi che si sovrappongono l'un l'altro come tegole su un tetto. Abitano le parti più calde dell'Asia e dell'Africa e si nutrono di formiche. Chiamato anche formichiere squamoso. Vedi pangolino.
