- Existir o trobar-se en un lloc o en una situació determinada: estic a Barcelona des de fa deu anys.
To exist or to be in a particular place or situation: I have been in Barcelona for ten years.
- Sentir-se o trobar-se d'una determinada manera: estic cansat.
Feeling or meeting in a certain way: I'm tired.
- Quedar-se un temps en un lloc o en una posició: vam estar tres hores a la sala d'espera; em canso d'estar dreta.
Stay for a while in a place or position: we spent three hours in the waiting room; I get tired of standing up.
- Tardar cert temps a fer una cosa: estava ben bé una setmana preparant els exàmens.
It took some time to do something: I was just a week preparing for the exams.
- Deixar de fer una cosa: per mi no estigueu, continueu, com si no hi fos.
Stop doing something: for me you're not, keep going, like I'm not there.
- Seguit d'un participi, forma passiva que expressa el resultat: el cotxe està destrossat.
Followed by a participles, a passive form that expresses the result: the car is shattered.
- En una perífrasi i seguit d'un gerundi, indica duració o que una cosa s'està fent: quan hi vaig arribar estaven dormint.

- estar-se Habitar o viure en un lloc: han canviat de pis, ara s'estan al carrer Major.
